Drunken PM Radio with Dave Prior and Michael Vizdos: Podcast Episode

Real World Topics For YOU!

When Your Leadership Can't Agree -
Featuring Michael Vizdos

I love having conversations with my old friend and colleague Dave Prior (host of Drunken PM Radio).

We’ve known each other for a long time and have spent lots of that time talking about what each of us are doing in the real world when Implementing Scrum and other Agile techniques in the real world.

The real world.

You know…

Where you and I both live and work.

Like the cartoon reference below (from my original Scrum “Chicken and Pig” cartoons in the past), any cultural references usually get “dated” pretty quickly.

While Dave and I have recorded a few episodes together in the past ten years+, this current episode is another point in time around what I am currently working on and passionate about today.

Time will pass (we can’t stop that lol).

Hopefully, no matter when you get a chance to listen to this episode, you’ll walk away with something that you can take away when Implementing Scrum or other Agile techniques in your world today.

The Drunken PM Radio Episode (April 19, 2023)

47 minutes. Actually, less than that if you play it at 1.25, 1.5, or 2x.

It’s like listening to my audio book version of the Scrum Guide, except it’s not just me talking to you AND there is a bit more emotion behind the words Dave and I talk about.

Actually, regarding the emotion:

I used a couple of curse words (I DID stop myself from dropping the F-bomb when I talked about a “cluster” but know I wanted to use the word so you can imagine that in your own head if you hear it that one time!).

Here is a description of the podcast from Dave Prior:

Mike Vizdos joins me for this conversation that focuses on what to do when you are competing for resources with other Product Owners in your organization and management will not (or can not) create clarity on what the company's strategic priorities are.

Mike and I also discuss his work coaching senior leadership, how Patrick Lencioni's First Team concept has become such a vital part of his approach, and the work Mike has been doing with ImplementingScrum.ai [ Beta Is Closed ].

Focus. #deliver

Eeesh, there is so much good stuff in there (and I say this from a listener perspective — hopefully YOU — and not my own ego…).

Yeah, it’s not perfect but all mistakes are mine and not by Dave (he is an awesome interviewer and I am still learning to be a more intentional interviewee).

You can learn more about how we might be able to work together via a consulting engagement, training, or mentoring at www.michaelvizdos.com.

Contact me (really!) or connect with me on LinkedIn to discuss this more together.

Also, check out AgileMentoring.com while you are here; it’s a great community of agile practitioners from around the world who are figuring things out together!

One final thing…

Subscribe to my weekly Saturday morning emails about Implementing Scrum in the real world. And get an “every two week” check in from me too.

What could be better?
