Experience matters.

Michael Vizdos is a local CST (Certified Scrum Trainer) — based in Richmond, Virginia — offering CSM (Certified Scrum Master) and CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) Training authorized by the Scrum Alliance for over 18 years.

He is also available for consulting engagements.

Hi.

I am going to switch to being “first person” here, because I am writing this to YOU as someone who might be looking to get Scrum or Agile Training in Richmond, Virginia, for yourself, your team, or your organization.

My name is Michael Vizdos, and I am a local person who provides Scrum and Agile Training (and consulting / speaking / delivering keynote addresses at conferences) around the world.

I live in Richmond, Virginia, and have been “active” in the Scrum and Agile Community here for a while now.

Not in the #rva?

Learn more about my training offers — outside of Richmond, Virginia — and register here for those events.

But of course, since you ARE here right now, please continue reading this even if you are not from Richmond, Virginia (smile).

Because… you can still hire me to come to your town anywhere in the world — I love to travel.

Experience Matters.

Yep, it does. And.

Local
Experience Matters
Even More

For
YOU.

Really.

Why?

I am glad you asked (smile).

Actually, contact me and let’s have a conversation.

We can talk on the phone, hop on Zoom, or [ahh… here’s the good part] even meet face-to-face.

In person.

ZERO SALES PRESSURE.

Really.

I am based out in the Short Pump area, but hey I’ll cross the river (I have a passport lol) or head downtown to meet with you if that works for both of us.

We both know there are plenty of people out there that can help you.

And, I promise if I can’t solve — or even identify — real world problems you, your team, or organization are experiencing today, I’ll make recommendations (yes, to my “competition”) if it’s not in my wheel house or if it does not feel like a good fit for either of us.

I am not for everyone.

And that’s ok (right!?).

Yes. I want to work (paid work) with you. But really… it’ll be a sales-pressure-free-conversation.

Remember:

There is only one of me (phew), and well, I am in your home town (and remember people pay ME $$ to fly all around the world to come in and work with their teams on training and consulting engagements in their local cities and towns.

Funny thing. You might even think about flying some other “outside expert” in to help you with Scrum / Agile Training or consulting or speaking engagements.

If you do, cool…

Let them know I am here and if they want to meet up and have dinner while they are in town — I am available (funny thing is almost no consultants take me up on that offer because of that feeling of “scarcity” and they might not want you to know I live here and work here and volunteer (a LOT) in our local community).

So.

Let’s talk (even if // especially if you are talking to other vendors).

Ways To Get Training With Michael Vizdos (me)

I don’t offer many “public” trainings where I book a training somewhere and hope for the best (those days are over); however, here’s something to think about — contact me and let me know you are interested in getting some training with me.

AND.

If you work at a place that can HOST a training for a few people with me (at your location or ?!), we can get creative and open it to other local people too. Sound good?

OR.

Let’s say you are bringing people into town for an “offsite” or “gathering” or “let’s meet face-to-face-as-a-team-since-we-are-always-usually-remote-and-we-need-to-do-something-productive-together” or [insert your idea here].

Bring me in to help with that (heck, it does not even have to be “official” Certified Scrum Training — let’s do what works FOR YOU and YOUR TEAM and YOUR ORGANIZATION.

Let’s talk.

Keep In Simple - No Games

Oh. I don’t respond to “RFPs” because we both know, by the time those go out, you know who you are contract with (and that RFP was probably written for you by the vendor who will provide the services anyway — ask me how I know) and I don’t play the “third bidder” game.

I will not come in at the lowest price if that’s your only concern (I get it, that usually is the big thing especially if you were going to “single source” it anyway but your company requires it to “go to bid” so you can check the box and see… it’s a game I know you gotta play but leave me out of it please).

Let’s talk, but please don’t waste of your time and mine with a charade. Go find someone else to do that dance with you. Harsh? Maybe. But we both know it’s true.

Let’s Do This Together

It’s really easy to work with me. You pay me. I come deliver your training. If there’s more we can do together — even better let’s keep going with some consulting or something else.

Other advantages of working with me, a local Scrum and Agile Certified Scrum Trainer:

You will save on the travel and other logistical headaches / nightmares.

You also keep your local #rva money local in the #rva ecosystem (oh yeah, I give back in time and investment here — I have for 20+ years here now [time flies]).

Remember… I am NOT the cheapest person out there, so if you are looking for the lowest cost provider, please look elsewhere. Contact me in six months and let me know how that’s working for you.

Why Cost Should Not Be Your Only Factor

Actually, ANY work we could do together should NOT come out of a “cost center” budget.

Make. More. Money.

Reduce Compliance Risks.

Delight Your Customer.

Work with me so I can help you you generate more revenue, reduce compliance risks, and even delight your customers even more than they are today (or, if things are a train-wreck you’ve got nothing to fear then — it’s only “up from here” or you’re looking for a new job // going out of business // or whatever other options there are).

I’m local.

I’ve got a bit experience at this and have worked with people at all the “major” companies and organizations around town.

Really.

I don’t sugar coat stuff.

I deliver results.

Ask around.

And.

Since you are local and I am local, we can get creative on longer term engagements together for either Scrum / Agile Training, Consulting, or — what I love to do even best — a combination of both.

I actually DO NOT LIKE — NOR DO I RECOMMEND — “One and Done” transactional training. As in, I come in, “do” some training (especially with no context), and then {poof} I’m gone. Then, you’ve spent a lot of money on training and the next day, week, or month ++ you are doing the same crap you used to do anyway.

We can talk about WHY more and remember, I’m local and in the #rva with you.

Scrum Training Testimonials

“I just completed the two-day CSM training with Michael Vizdos. It was a seamless experience with a group of six attendees coming together to experience the formation and practice of being on a scrum team. Our activities and interactions felt less like training, and more like working model of team building. Thank you for the workshop!”
– J.D., Phoenix, AZ

“After my first day in Michael's SCRUM training, I immediately began taking steps to get my entire team of product owners and project managers enrolled in his similar 2 day Product Owner training. Michael has mastered the art of virtual trainings in a way that I have not previously observed, despite having attended many such trainings in the past year. I do not say this lightly...I had a ball at this training. It is worth the time and effort, and you walk away with much more than your SCRUM certification.”
– Meredith Poppish, MSN, FNP Transnetyx, Inc.

“I was able to take the Scrum Masters Workshop and found it to be one of the most informative workshops ever. It really addressed all the aspects of scrum and how to apply it in all situations, and left me confident in my ability to put it into practice. The resources that are given to everyone are awesome.”
– Rodney D.C. Barnes

“I have a few years of project management experience under my belt, and I was a bit skeptical that I'd come into this training and my only outcome would be getting a checkbox checked on my resume. I was definitely wrong - I learned some new techniques and approaches to enhance what I am already doing in my day to day execution of my job.”
– Emily, Cloud for Good

"Mike is an effective communicator on the art of Scrum. My background is in biochemical research, and Mike helped me realize the value of Scrum, even in applying this framework to my own lab work. If you're looking for an expert who can get you up to par on Scrum, you can trust Mike!"
– Joshua Morriss, JM, VCU School of Pharmacy
